Fresh food is important for your parrot no matter what species
you have. This absolutely includes our small birds like the
budgies (aka parakeets) and cockatiels. There are two pics of
one of my breeder Nanday Conures and one of my baby umbrellas
eating their fresh food. On this day they got a mix of vege-
table made pasta (called Wacky-Mac), and a mixed vegetable
with added broccoli. There was also some plain Cheerios and
Raisin Bran mixed in.

Take a close look at the bowls. While most people only have a
bird or two, I have many of them and many cages too. Because
of time I feed their fresh food from paper bowls instead of
regular bowls that have to be washed every day. Once their
fresh food is all eaten, they usually tip the bowl over and
play with it and shred it giving them a temporary "toy" until
the next day.
