Solomon Island eclectus are a pretty quiet, pleasant parrot, but can be very noisy at times, usually in evenings or if sud- denly scared. If kept in a small cage they can become lethargic so give them as large a cage as possible or a large flight. They often prefer clim- bing up to a perch versus fly- ing to it. Because of their amazing colors and feather texture they are readily saught after so there is an abundance of offspring from the many sub- species to meet the demand of the public.
