Nepenthes ventricosa

Pure or Hybrid: Pure Type: Highland - Grows between 3000 feet & 10,000 feet above sea level. They experience warm days, cool nights and continuous high humidity! Origin: Luzon, Philippines Adult Pitcher: Between 5" and 6" tall. Lighting: Needs bright light, but not direct sun light. If kept in a greenhouse, it requires 50% shade cloth. Watering: Water from above and allow the excess to drain into a tray. Water like this when water is gone from the tray! Comments: Found on Luzon in the Philippines. This species is characterized by its smooth swollen pitchers, often with a narrowed 'waist'. A number of variet- ies exist and pitcher colour can vary from yellow/green to red. This is one of the easiest of all Nepenthes species to cultivate; it can be grown either as a lowland or highland plant. The waxy texture of the leaves enable it to perform well despite fluctuat- ions in humidity. Prefers very bright light, especially if cultivated in highland conditions. Where I got it: From a friend in Florida.
