Nepenthes sanguinea
|
Pure or Hybrid: Pure
Type: Highland - Grows between 3000 feet &
10,000 feet above sea level. They
experience warm days, cool nights
and continuous high humidity!
Origin: West Malaysia
Adult Pitcher: Near 12" tall.
Lighting: Needs bright light, but not direct
sun light. If kept in a greenhouse,
it requires 50% shade cloth.
Watering: Water from above and allow the excess
to drain into a tray. Water like this
when water is gone from the tray!
Comments: Gets is name becasue of the beautiful
red coloration (sanguine) though
green and spotted varieties also
occur. The lower pitchers are quite
ovoid while the upper ones are very
tubular. This species is easily
grown. Also tolerates warm temps
too.
Where I got it: From a friend in Florida.
