Deposits For My Babies
If you live in or around the Price area and are interested in
coming and seeing the baby birds and the process of hand feed-
ing, feel free to come and watch! Send me an email and I will
let you know the feeding schedule for both of the babies. At
that time you will learn a valuable lesson on handfeeding,
proper sterility techniques, husbandry and equipment and its
correct usage for raising beautiful baby parrots. Please just
keep one thing in mind. I have been raising parrots for near-
ly 20 years which began with budgies, then lovebirds and then
cockatiels. I might make this seem easy but it really is not!

Anyone can learn any type of trade or job or skill, but just
becasue you are shown how to do it doesn't mean you actually
can. Hand feeding is an "art" within itself. You are either
good at it or your not. If you ever find you are having some
difficulties in hand feeding, please find an experienced hand
feeder and have them show you their technique and if you still
do not feel comfortable hand rearing your baby parrot(s), ask
them to help you raise them. Most of us with several species
always have babies to hand feed so having an extra one or two
doesn't take any more time and will ensure the health, safety
and life of the bird.

As long as you can guarantee the health of the baby against any
diseases, most of us will be more than happy to help you. We
would ask that you have avian veterinary paperwork proving that
your parent birds have been tested against avian diseases such
as Polyomavirus, PBFD, psittacosis, etc. and that the results
were negative. This paperwork needs to show that a DNA probe
was done, not just a regular blood profile.
