Budgies, also called parakeets are one of the most popular pet parrots in the world. They are easy to care for, sing a lot, learn to whistle and talk. They are actually listed as the 3rd best talking parrot in the world and they come a a WIDE variety of colors, both solid and combinat- ions. They are one of the species that is sexually dimorphic which means you can tell the sex by the color. Males have blue nose skin and females have brown. This is a violet budgie.
This is a mostly white budgie and a green budgie. Notice the nose skin color of them. The green budgie has a blue nose which means it is a male, the white has a brown nose which means it is the female.
This is a feather duster budgie. They rarely live because the parents abandon them after hatching do to their "abnormality". This is a genetic condit- ion, NOT a "type" or "breed" of budgie. It's very RARE!!! They also require special care and caging requirements.
